Separation of Church and State?

Good question, Gay myself and often wondered and marveled at the ignorant comments/arguments against Gay marriage. The laws of this country are based on Christian values, and the 10 commandments. I fail to see how Gays getting married compromises the institution of marriage, when our Hollywood elite does it so well(not to mention Tiger Woods.....lets face it the list is extensive!).As a Pagan I also wonder why Christianity feels they have a monopoly on the word marriage, especially sense so many Christian traditions are borrowed from the Pagan traditions. Until they come to their senses all we can do is draw up legal papers that will then give our spouses the same rights as "married folk".
