How do I get him to realize he's hurting me?

My fianc� and I are going through an extremely rough patch. I come from a bad family and he knows that. Lately, he has been treating me inhuman. I know I will not leave. So don't bother saying it. I've considered inducing an asthma attack so I can go to the hospital or something similar. Sadly, I've considered suicide. It's a long story but I won't leave so will someone help by giving me some advice on what to do to make him realize that things are bad (REALLY BAD). Please, I really hope someone can help.
